NEW HAVEN ARREST SUSPECT IN PIZZA RESTAURANT ROBBERY

(2/28/2008) NEW HAVEN- During the execution of a search warrant at 80 Chamberlin Street, the New Haven Task Force seized 3.9 grams of crack cocaine, 1.9 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the residence of Jose O. Rivera. Rivera was arrested for Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S. Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The Task Force also seized 14.6 grams of crack cocaine from a vehicle parked outside 80 Chamberlin Street. When the officers tried to approach the vehicle, the driver George Flores of 91 Mechanics Street refused to follow instructions to unlock the door and put the vehicle in park. Instead, he put the car in reverse and rammed the SNTF New Haven Mini-Van. Mr. Flores was arrested with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S., Criminal Attempt Assault of a Police Officer, Interfering, Criminal Mischief 1st degree, Reckless Driving, Unsafe Backing and Operating Motor Vehicle without a license.
